Warning: Spoilers Ahead
What’s New
What isn’t new?
Vhalla had left Prince Aldrik in the North after the fight of the century. She finds refuge in the West, but as we know – any hero worth their weight in gold is found quickly by their enemies. In this territory the Knights of Jadar, a militant group that operates under an old regime corners Vhalla. Able to escape, she’s forced back to the one place she doesn’t wish to return – the capital city. More specifically, the palace.
Luckily for Vhalla, it is obvious that Aldrik’s future bride is not willing at all, but was forced by the Chieftan to maintain the peace. Instead, she plans to assassinate the Emperor. Not that I was complaining at all. Vhalla, maintaining loyalty (somehow) to the royal family, warns Aldrik of this plot and they are able to subvert it.
The Sirius Black Moment
Why do all the good characters die?!
There, I said it.
Baldric. The younger prince who was that typical pain in the behind, ‘the golden prince’, ‘the heartbreaker prince’, Aldrik’s younger brother who took the initiative to improve their relationship dies to the Autumn Fever that Vhalla had as a child and killed her mother. I was so angry and upset at this at first….though compared to what happens later, I am grateful he died in this way.
But That Backflip Though
We thought we hated the Senator Egmun – the main voice who wanted to condemn Vhalla to death in the first book, who sent her to the North on a suicide mission as a compromise, who taunts her for her abilities every chance he gets…..is actually a good guy?!
Prior to the plot of Air Awakens, when Vhalla was a child, there was a War of the Crystal Caverns. These caverns hold crystals that taint magic users, but can be used to create weapons that do unspeakable damage to people and the world around them. There was a group of sorcerers who wanted to use that power for themselves, tainted by the crystals. Vhalla’s father served as a soldier to protect the cavern from those who would use it.
Egmun was formerly a sorcerer who sacrificed his abilities to seal the caverns after the war. Disallowing access as we find out Aldrik’s mother had done the same many years prior, but it cost her life. Instead, the person that we never would have expected – the Minister who took Vhalla under his wing in the Tower of Sorcerers, Victor has accessed the caverns, awakened the power of the crystals, killed the royal family, and took over as Emperor of Solaris. There was a battle scene in the caverns in which Victor caused a cave-in, believing that Vhalla and Aldrik are dead. They are saved by the loyal side characters who have been present since day one of this journey.
What Is To Come
We leave off Water’s Wrath with a messenger being sent to notify citizens of the royal family’s death. Aldrik is acknowledged by the surrounding people as the new emperor, even with the usurper currently in the capital. Vhalla kneels to her new Emperor, stating the quote at the top of the page.
Book five, Crystal Crowened I believe will be the epic showdown between our fated couple, their companions and the evil emperor. I am looking forward to the machinations the group will have to take to overthrow this tyrant.

Updated on: June 6, 2024
I had finished streaming Forspoken on the channel as of June 5th and it was a fun ride. This was a second play through after a long break.
The upcoming games are going to be either Marvel’s Spider-Man, Bioshock, The Last of Us. I have played the first two some years ago but never The Last of Us. I will do my best to decide on which game will be next. Rest assured, I plan to play all of the games listed and more in due course!
